Andrea and Roisin at Unconventional Studios understood what we should be doing on our website long before we did. They started by creating something which encouraged filmmakers to submit their films, showcased our event - encouraging ticket sales - and gave us somewhere to profile short films and the filmmakers behind them.
They didn't just create a website on Squarespace, we could have done that ourselves, they made something that reflected our ethos and felt like a home for Suffolk Shorts, which only exists as something tangible once a year.
During the ongoing process they have initiated a site which will change focus as our festival activity changes during the year. They understood how to help us support our community with accessible insights into filmmaking, collaboration and learning through the site, something we have never addressed before. They questioned our complacent messaging by helping us to understand that our digital profile needs to have a clear, unified tone of voice that appeals to all.
Because they invested time to understand Suffolk Shorts, our creative decisions aligned immediately. They feel like an integral part of the team already!
